“ The food was delicious. What I had anyways was delicious. The cabbage didn’t look like much, but it was so good. I loved the cabbage. I love the cornbread muffins. I love the sweet potatoes that I had the shrimp that I got was good. The crab cake was good. I didn’t really care for the two wings I had but The burger, the cheddar burger with bacon juicy. It was good! ”
“ Where shall I start... if you’re in the Portsmouth VA area this is a total recommend. The food is 10/5. The service was great. Kia was completely awesome. We ordered turkey wings and gravy and 2 orders of ribs. The ribs were fall off the bone delicious, they were smothered in bbq sauce which made them less than warm. Still delicious. The gravy on the turkey wing needed a little more flavor but they were just as delicious. The sides were Mac and cheese, collard greens, green beans, yams, corn bread and potato salad, which I had to get the next day :( but it was delicious as well. Kia was amazing, she played along with my shenanigans. I told her that someone else was paying for our meal, and there was no one in the place except us. Suddenly a waitress come from what we thought was an empty booth. At the moment it was hilarious. I only drink water so I can’t share how the drinks were but my girls were with me and they enjoyed their Arnold Palmer and lemonade. Overall we had a great experience at Charm and Manners. ”

I ordered grilled turkey chops with collards and mashed potatoes, onions and gravy. My husband ordered fried turkey chops with potatoe salad, and string beans. Like Sunday at grandma’s. Flavor, love, and soul in every bite. Now, let’s talk service. It’s clear the staff is doing their absolute best, but they were seriously short-handed. Wait times were longer than expected, and it took a while to get refills or check in on the order. You can see they’re working hard — they just need more support. This place deserves to thrive, and I’ll absolutely be back — I just hope management gives the team what they need to match the kitchen’s greatness with front-of-house excellence. “ This was my first visit, but it will not be my last! I went on a karaoke night, and the DJ was working overtime! It was an enjoyable experience! The staff was friendly, efficient, and attentive. And the food? Wow! I had the fried shrimp appetizer, the ribs, collards, and mashed potatoes with gravy. Everything was delicious! The shrimp were large, and cooked properly, the collards may have been the best I ever had, the potatoes were thick and well seasoned, the ribs fell off the bone, and cooked to perfection! The ambience was like visiting your best friend's home, and that friend is a hell of a cook! I strongly recommend visiting this amazing restaurant! ”
